Lila's getting her oomph back!
I know I have been a pretty absent girl lately. Honestly it has felt like life and my FMS took a huge bite out of me and swallowed me up. One thing after another was slamming into me and I was struggling to catch my footing. I was lucky to concentrate on my husband and girls let alone myself. Finally though I seem to have a med combo that is working. My pain isn't super constant. I have oils helping to supplement things thanks to Mrs. Gracie. I am back using a lot of organics where I can. I am doing physical/massage therapy 2 days a week. I have my chores back on a schedule I can manage. Monkey is on a reward system that has made discipline and such much easier with her. So I am slowly getting me back. I haven't been able to do a lot of the things I had hoped to by this time of year. I know that is pretty normal with this type of illness. I am learning to be more patient with myself and more forgiving. So I hope to be more present here again and really start to dig in to some canning and homemade things as well as other preps. So wish me luck as I get back to my life and if you have any ideas for me I would love to hear it. I plan to really get in to getting all our go bags together, building some more food storage, making some useful items for the girls. Things like that. If you have any items you just can't live without let me know. If you have some cool tricks to your preps I am all ears. I also am interested in high nutrition tasty recipes. One of the side effects to my meds has been a loss of appetite. I am not eating well. So I try to pack nutrition into things. I take a very potent multivitamin as well. So let the thoughts flow y'all!!

We love comments! We are happy to answer questions, join in debate and conversation, or just say hi. All we ask is for respect. Respect us and others. Keep it civil. Obviously we aren't afraid of cussing but we don't like anyone degraded or invalidated.
We also know we make mistakes. Feel free to call us out. You can't improve things that need it if you aren't aware of it.
If you have an opinion share it but know if it is going to cause hurt to someone we care about we will not approve it.
Most of all have fun!!

Yay for oomph!
ReplyDeleteLila,
ReplyDeleteIt's been an extraordinarily HARD winter, spring and early summer for FMS sufferers. My wife has been in literal non-stop agony for weeks on end, with only a handful of days relief in between.
She is off right now to a cold-laser therapy session--supposedly something new they're experimenting with for FMS patients.
The theory is that the cold-laser affects the chemistry of something, which then affects the acidic protein of the problem muscles and "neutralizes" the knotting tendencies.
This is her third session in a week, results aren't supposed to be noticed for several more weeks, and even then, only gradually.
I'll keep you posted.
Meanwhile, hang in there.

Thanks GBBL!
ReplyDeleteAOA- This extreme weather is a huge part. Some days I feel lucky to keep us all fed. The week of the tunnel accident was horrible. The heat and stress had me so sick. My house was worse than ever. I honestly almost hired a maid to come help. I hate depending on help. Not doing things just kills me but I have had to really forgive myself. Some days the energy is just not there. I really hope to write again soon. But I have to put things in a order and as much as I love it it isn't something that is critical. So it has not been a focus. Love to your wife. I hope this treatment helps.
I'm glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better and I hope the things you are doing will continue to help!
ReplyDeletego bags need socks and compression type underwear. Everyone laughed at how often I would change my essentials in the sandbox but I felt clean at least. So there, something you can't live without.
ReplyDeleteSpinach and anything with iron to help the oxygen flow better in your blood vessels. A lot of water, to the point of it being annoying how often you are in the bathroom.
Slow and steady, If you can't win the race keep racing forever!
Thanks Brigid and AGirl!
ReplyDeleteMax I am taking notes! ;)
