Grrr

I've been in a foul mood the last couple days. Not totally sure why, I'm not actually sure if I really have a reason. I'm just cranky. Very cranky.

Monday I spent making 14 quarts of dill pickles. Yes, 14 quarts. And I'm not even done, I have more cukes I should use. I also have a case of peaches I need to use; either making jam or canning slices, or both. But I just haven't been in the mood (like I said. Cranky.)

I feel like I'm probably in need of a vacation, but unless some rich relative I don't know decides to bequeath me a chunk of cash for no reason, that's not gonna happen.

  1. Maggy,

I don't know if this would work. But what if you turn in 15 minutes earlier than usual. Then get up 10 minutes early, and make an extra cup of tea before getting started on the day?

Performance horses in heavy use, especially those highly trained, are susceptible to horrible neck pains - when they take and hold the expected position to perform as expected - but then aren't asked to stretch out those muscles that have been tensed in performance.

    Breathe deep. Repeat.

There is a breathing phenomenon that some people experience, called "pocketing" if I recall my doctor's description. Breathe out all the way. Now, continuing to push air out as if there were any left, hold the lips close together so you can feel that slight trickle still pushing out. Scrunch your stomach to push more air, as long as you can (about the length of time you can hold your breath). Take a couple of breaths. Repeat 2-10 times. This flushes out stagnant pools of air in the lungs, improves oxygen exchange in seldom-used corners of the lungs. But this isn't a really flashy party trick.

    Blessed be.

  2. Come to Japan. =) Unfortunately I have not struck it rich or else I would totally fly you two out here. Then we could have girls night.

  3. Sometimes just getting out of the house and your normal routine really helps. Don't you have a variety of relatives in the relatively immediate area? Get on the phone and see about making a visit for the weekend. While it would not be as fancy as a trip to Mexico or Japan it would just cost a couple tanks of gas and maybe a pie as a gift.

We love comments! We are happy to answer questions, join in debate and conversation, or just say hi. All we ask is for respect. Respect us and others. Keep it civil. Obviously we aren't afraid of cussing but we don't like anyone degraded or invalidated.

We also know we make mistakes. Feel free to call us out. You can't improve things that need it if you aren't aware of it.

If you have an opinion share it but know if it is going to cause hurt to someone we care about we will not approve it.

Most of all have fun!!
